Wapda book final with Balochistan United

Women’s teams to fight for national football championship title.

KARACHI: Wapda and Balochistan United reached the final of the National Women’s Football Championship in Lahore on Wednesday.

Wapda defeated Diya FC 4-0 in the first semi-final.

Asma Usman scored the opening goal in the 13th minute of the match, while Nadia doubled the lead in the 55th minute. Shagufta Akhtar and Mehwish Khan also contributed with a goal each to ensure Wapda’s win.

Meanwhile, last year’s runners-up Balochistan United overcame Army 5-3.

National women’s team captain Hajra Khan and Shahlyla Baloch scored two goals each, whereas Maryam sealed the win for her team in the 81st minute.

Army replied with goals from Malika Noor and Roshnan Ali. Noor scored a brace, but failed to save her team from losing.
