KARACHI:
Different areas of the city faced yet another large-scale electricity outage on Thursday night. In many areas, power supply could not be restored till Friday.
The affected areas include Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulzar-e-Hijri, Saddar, Old City, Garden, Korangi, Qayyumabad and surrounding areas.
Sources in the K-Electric blamed tripping and fault in the transmission system, saying that the repair process was under way. Nonetheless, citizens were of the opinion that the privatisation of the electricity utility failed to improve service delivery and all the promises with electricity consumers of Karachi have been proven to be just tall claims.
