For shame: Local stage artist kidnapped, assaulted

BAHAWALPUR: Sassi Bibi, a local stage artist, was abducted and her nose snipped off on Friday. The men later abandoned her by a deserted road. Sassi Bibi, a resident of Khairpur Tamewali, said she was on her way to Yazman with her brother Rasheed Ahmad when she was abducted at gunpoint by proclaimed offenders Shahid, Nawazish Ali and Muhammad Nasir near Jagayat Pir. They took her to a deserted area and cut her nose off, police said. They later dropped her on a roadside and fled. Police said she was taken to Bahawal Victoria Hospital. Police have registered a case on her brother’s complaint.
