Chief secretary seeks better teamwork

Chief Secretary Naveed Akram Cheema on Wednesday urged regional commissioners, regional police officers, district coordination officers and district police officers to work as a team to resolve problems of the masses.


Cheema was presiding over two meetings attended by civil and police officials.

The home secretary and the inspector general of police gave briefings on the law and order situation. They also reviewed the rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The home secretary said security had been tightened across the province.

The IG said efforts were being made to improve the security situation and bring down crime rate.

He said duties for Juma-tul-Wida, Eid and Independence Day had been assigned.

The chief secretary also chaired a meeting on steps taken to control dengue fever, polio and flood emergencies.

He directed participants to ensure strict surveillance to eradicate dengue fever as monsoon had begun and chances of a dengue fever outbreak were high.

The chief secretary directed the commissioners and the district coordination officers to enhance monitoring of health facilities being provided to masses.
