PESHAWAR: Around a month after it suspended its flight operations to and from Peshawar, Emirates Airlines announced on Wednesday that it will resume its operations in the city from July 24, Express News reported.

The first flight will reportedly take off for Dubai at 9am tomorrow.

However, local spokesperson of the Dubai-based airline did not confirm this.

On June 25, Emirates had said that it was suspending flights to and from Peshawar, just hours after bullets pierced through a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane near the airport, killing one female passenger.

The airline had suspended flights from June 25 until further notice due to the security situation at the Peshawar airport.

@Emirates : In addition to life vests, please consider providing bullet proof jackets for passengers to Peshawar.

@Adnan Siddiqi: And should they not then suspend all air traffic at Karachi airport as well?
