Aerial support: 15 militants killed as army bombs suspected hideouts in NW

Army pounds eight suspected militant hideouts in Shawal area of North Waziristan.

NORTH WAZIRISTAN: As many as 15 suspected militants were killed as the army resorted to aerial bombardment of eight locations believed to be militant hideouts in the Shawal area of North Waziristan early on Sunday, Express News reported.

According to sources, security forces pounded eight locations in the Darri Wastay area.

As a result of the bombings, 15 suspected militants were killed.

On Wednesday, jet strikes in the Shawal Valley had killed 35 militants.

Sunday's targeted action in Shawal come a day after the army announced it had cleared Boya and Degan villages. The army said it was conducting house to house searches in Mussaki, Hurmez and Mir Ali bazaar and battling militants in areas surrounding Mir Ali.
