Gilani appeared before the court today to submit his bail plea. A huge number of his supporters were gathered outside the court, while a few Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders accompanied him to the judge’s chamber.
The former prime minister has been accused of corruption worth millions of rupees.
During the hearing today, Gilani - who served as prime minister from 2008 to 2012 - argued that he was wrongly accused in false corruption cases.
Earlier on June 2, the same court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Gilani and former commerce minister Amin Fahim for their alleged involvement in seven cases relating to a multi-billion trade subsidy scam.
Gilani, along with ex-commerce minister Fahim, allegedly granted billions of rupees in subsidies to bogus trading companies.

Nobody is above law. Law supremacy must stand on the top so that everyone follows it.
Our judicial system is anything but judicial.
Still a better Prime Minister the Nowaz (never)Sharif!
That's why Sindh was given to PPP in a pre-planned rigging deal. Nobody can touch them now. Zardari is enjoying trillions in Sindh that he stole during last 5 years.
No one has the right to deprive any one the freedom that one is born with, unless the accused is found guilty of a crime punishable by a prison term legislated to maintain order in a community livinig( sorry, forgot the quote author) .

A corrupt court for corrupt people in a corrupt country. Very Sad. and whats the point of all that money when you cant enjoy it openly, declare it, dont pay your fair share of taxes, or even the ransom for you own son. A sycophant society and government which only aspires to achieve monetary gain through illicit means and manipulation will NEVER prosper and unfortunately we have these parasites ruling over us who promote this corruption which has an infectious and deadly trickle down effect. We need to re-evaluate our priorities. Good luck Pakistan.
well done pakistan Politicians are always innocents
The government should concentrate upon improving the living standard of the people, and also try to recover Mr Gillani's son. To sideline the issues it is unnecessarily trying to implicate an elected ex Prime Minister. PMNS once he was what you are today.
@John: You said great
I think now all these type of Corrupt people will contact SAME COURT.......
Then they say proudly that they were jailed for years. Not for corruption but for democracyyyyy.
