Targeted Raid: 48 suspects held in Shangla

A large cache of arms was also seized during the crackdown.

SHANGLA: A search operation conducted by the police on Saturday led to the arrest of 48 suspects, including 15 suspected militants and three proclaimed offenders, from different areas of Poran tehsil, Shangla.

A large cache of arms was also seized during the crackdown. Addressing a news conference, Shangla District Police Officer Khalid Naseem said they launched the operation in Makhozai, Ady Kot, Gokand, Ghwakhay, Shekolai, Banr, Shoodar and Kandao areas on the directives of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Malakand Abdullah Khan. Naseem explained those arrested were shifted to concerned police stations for further investigation.

He informed the media they have recovered 15 rifles, nine shotguns, two repeaters, one Kalashnikov, 26 double-barrel guns and 55 cartridges from the suspects.
