KARACHI: Activists of the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) staged a protest outside Karachi Press Club, demanding the removal of their party chief’s name from the exit control list (ECL). The protesters also demanded immediate withdrawal of all cases against him. In their address, AMPL consulting committee members, Muhammad Ali Sherwani and Wasiuddin, alleged that restraining General (retd) Pervez Musharraf from visiting his ailing mother was an act of vengeance on the part of the government. They said that the present government had totally failed to give any relief to the people, so it had diverted the people’s attention towards non-issues. This kind of behaviour from the government could prove very harmful for the country, they warned.
