ISLAMABAD:

Minister of National Food Security and Research Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan on Monday called on agriculture scientists and donor partners to disseminate agri-research and innovation at the doorsteps of farmers living in remote areas of the country.

Addressing the USAID and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) funded Balochistan Agriculture Project and demonstration of mechanical sheep shearing system at the National Agriculture Research Centre (NARC), the minister said that the programme would help set a new dimension for the livestock sector, particularly the wool industry of the province.

“The system is designed to modernise shearing practices in Balochistan under which new equipment will cut the shearing time by six times and produce higher quality wool.”

According to Bosan, the project will help improve the shearing process.
