Did you know? A street called Wasim Akram in Karachi

Did you know that there is a street named after the former Pakistan cricket team Captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram in Karachi?

Surprisingly even Akram was not aware of the fact before today.

Coincidentally, as he was going to the shoot of a new television commercial in Karachi, he spotted a road sign bearing his name.

Excited to find a street named after him, he got out of his car and took a photo standing next to the street sign. Akram later that he just had to have a photo taken with the street sign.

He tweeted:
I was on my way for TVC shoot in North Nazimabad, Karachi when I came across this. I just had to stop for a photo!

The street is located at North Nazimabad Block A, near KDA chowrangi in Karachi.

It is a residential street and approximately half a kilometer long.

This area has all the streets named after our sportmen, mostly cricketers, all in vicinity of Asghar Ali stadium, built by Dr M Muhammad Ali (late) the great sports lover and promoter.I do not recall any other personality who was such a lover and promoter of sports.
