Outlining their proposed mandate encompassing land reforms, rebuilding of state enterprises and welfare services for the working class, the National Party (NP) conducted its first session today.

Held at the SAFMA office, the interactive discussion was attended by activists and members of the civil society, who imparted valuable suggestions for modelling the National Party into a representative entity for all segments of the polity.

Among those addressing the audience were NP President Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo, Dr Hassan Nasir and NP Punjab Organiser Ayub Malik, said a press release.

Elaborating on the party’s agenda, Bizenjo, a sitting senator, said that welfare policies for the working class will be introduced which include access to healthcare and housing facilities, along with making secondary education free and compulsory.

“In its essence, NP is a progressive, anti-imperialist and anti-establishment party which will strive to establish a truly federal system, co-opting marginalized segments of the society and disadvantaged ethnic and religious groups,” Bizenjo explained.
