Aziz was arrested by police on February 8 and was released on bail the next day. The MQM worker had claimed that he was tortured during police interrogation. He was taken to Darul Sehat Hospital after having been detained by the police for about 10 hours.
According to the report, Aziz was arrested after police received secret information regarding his involvement in the murder of four police officers. Report claimed more details were extracted from Aziz during the police investigation.
The report also said that police officers involved in torture of Aziz will be dealt with according to the law.
The MQM had submitted a petition in the SHC on February 10 against what it calls extrajudicial killings of its workers.
Rana Sanaullah condemns
Law Minister of Punjab Rana Sanaullah condemned the alleged torture of MQM worker.
"Such acts are not acceptable and whoever is at fault should be punished," Sanaullah stated while speaking to the media in Lahore.
He claimed that this was done by those who were plotting against the operation in Karachi.
