LAHORE:

Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhary Tariq Javed, who also deals in court security, said on Wednesday that he had asked for 40 policemen to be deputed at the district and sessions court.

He said he had requested for extra security when law enforcement agencies alerted the Lahore High Court about threats against some judges.

He said he had visited the courts with Security SP Imtiaz Sarwar, DSP Shamsul Haq Durrani and Islampura SHO Abid Rasheed to identify loopholes in security arrangements so that they could be removed.

He said the security staff at courts had been told to remain vigilant. He said every person entering the courts would be searched. He said some entrance and exit points of the court premises had been sealed until further notice.
