RAWALPINDI:

The head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Monday denounced the suicide attack in Rawalpindi and said those involved in “such gruesome acts” should be brought to justice. “Such people are the enemies of humanity,” he said in a statement.

The PTI chairman asked the government to protect the lives of citizens. Imran expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the loss of lives and sympathised with those injured in the incident.

Earlier, addressing a gathering in Khushab, Imran said all those involved in rigging of the May 11 polls should be tried for treason. He also announced that if the electricity system in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa is handed over to the provincial government, power tariffs will be reduced by 20 per cent.

Noting that it was the third stint of PML-N in the centre and the party’s sixth term in Punjab, he asked: “What difference has it made except that the turn-takers have launched their children in the field now?”
