The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued a notice to top officials of the government in response to a contempt petition filed by Pemra chairman, who sought contempt proceedings against the officials for not complying with the court’s order.
Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan, in the issued notice, sought replies from the secretary establishment, secretary ministry of information and Rao Tehsin, executive member of Pemra, by December 23.
It is noted that on December 16 the government had suspended chairman Pemra from his post, however, the IHC had suspended his termination and reinstated him.
The petitioner’s counsel, Wasim Sajjad filed a contempt application on Friday seeking contempt proceedings against the respondents for not complying with the court’s orders.
He stated that since the court had restored his client to his former position, Rashid Ahmad went to the office on December 17 in his capacity of being the Pemra chief. However, Ahmad received threats from some officers who were allegedly instigated by Rao Tehsin.
He alleged that Tehsin in connivance with the secretary information and the secretary establishment was creating problems in the implementation of the court’s order.

Dears, It's unfortunate to see disrespect and contempt of Court by Executive Member PEMRA Rao Tehsin & POWA Office bearers.... Unfortunately, POWA and their loyalists tried to close the doors of PEMRA for its Chairman... It's worst incident and the culprits must be penalized by the court...
Rest: May Allah guide PEMRA to it's mandate and responsibility.
