BHAKKAR: In Jhok Taba, four people allegedly abducted a newly married woman and crafted a fake nikahnama using her CNIC information.

According to police officials, Muhammad Ramzan and his friend Sial Lazman submitted an application in the City police station stating that with a woman Rafia Bibi had helped Shah Behram, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Nawaz and Syed Tahir Hussain abduct his wife from her home on October 12.

“We were married only a week ago and the woman came over to our house to congratulate us, I left them alone and when I returned she was gone,” Ramzan said.

Ramzan accused his wife of adultery and said that the accused had also produced a fabricated nikahnama when he questioned one of the accomplices who knew about the incident. “The man said he didn’t know where they had gone but that my wife had relations with one of the accused, Nawaz,” Ramzan said.

City police station superintendent police (SP) Javed said that he had asked for a copy of the woman’s CNIC from Nadra offices and was looking into the case. “We will not decide whether the woman is guilty of adultery based on statements, we need to investigate further before we have a clear picture,” SP Javed said. Police officials have launched an investigation into the incident and are trying to locate Ramzan’s wife.
