Alleged assault: 18-year-old girl discharged from JPMC

The girl, who claimed she had been raped, fell from the second floor of a building in Defence Housing Authority.

KARACHI: The 18-year-old girl, who was allegedly subjected to sexual assault, was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre’s joint director, Seemin Jamali, told The Express Tribune that the girl was discharged from the hospital’s special ward on Tuesday and sent home. The girl, who claimed that she had been raped, fell from the second floor of a residential building in the Defence Housing Authority on Monday. The accused is currently in police custody. “She is suffering from a pelvic fracture after falling down from the building. It will take her six weeks to recover. Otherwise she is better, alert and conscious,” said Jamali. SIO Islam said that the police would visit the girl at her home  in Keamari as part of the investigations.
