A confessional statement from the son, Captain Haider Ali, read that he had fed his family intoxicating pills first before shooting them.
His two sisters were reportedly asleep when they were killed.
The four bodies were sent to CMH Rawalpindi for medical and legal proceedings.
The police had conducted a forensic examination of the crime scene and reviewed the mobile phone data of the victims. They had found four shell casings of 22mm caliber bullets.
It was earlier been reported that Haider was not in the house when the crimes were committed.
The family hailed from Sialkot and was living in the residential colony of Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital. Dr Malik was the principal of Yusra Medical and Dental College in Soan, Rawalpindi.

Mr. Malik wansn't the Principal of Yusrra Medical and Dental College as reported in various articles, he was the Director (Administration) according to the official SMS I received form YMDC.
I have read in a Urdu Newspaper Killer statement, he said his family was not letting him marry by his choice.
Similar incident happened with a Sugar Mill top official where father allegedly killed his whole family. Crime scene details were so shocking that even Policemen at the scene started crying.

Murder(s) and then arrest of the killer(s) goes together.
What is more important apart from the formal investigations and even prosecution of the accused in the court of law is that Police should ask the killer(s) as what makes the killer(s) to kill the other person, whether he or she was a relative or not?
The bottom line is that people should learn from such cases and avoid similar misunderstandings among the own family members, which compells one person to kill another person.
I am plianly talking about the family matters and my write-up is not at all concerned with the political killings in the country.
This is so unfortunate. I can't think of a possible motive behind this heinous act.
