Tremors felt in Chitral, Swat and Lower Dir

LOWER DIR: Tremors of a 5.6-magnitude earthquake were felt in Swat, Chitral and Lower Dir at around 6am on Saturday, Express News reported.

The epicenter of the quake was at the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.

No loss of lives had been reported. People evacuated their houses and ran into the streets in panic after the tremors were felt.

On September 24, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Balochistan killed at least 359 people and injured over 600. As many as 300,000 people have been displaced affecting at least 21,000 households.

At least three subsequent aftershocks measuring 5.9, 4.7 and 4.9 added to the damage in the province.
