A house and a hujra were detonated by unidentified militants in two separate incidents in Jamrud, Khyber Agency on Sunday.
Asmatullah Wazir, an official of the political administration, said both the incidents occurred in the early hours of the morning in Ghariza area of the tehsil.
He added militants planted a bomb next to the boundary wall of Haji Aurangzeb’s house. The official said the main gate and boundary wall were razed to the ground.
Aurangzeb, owner of a petrol pump in Jamrud where vehicles carrying Nato supplies would park, received threats from militants after which he had closed the parking area.
In another incident, militants planted a bomb outside the hujra of Niaz Wali in Bakarabad area of Jamrud, which exploded at 5am, leaving the structure partially damaged.
Niaz Wali is a trader involved in supplying tyres and batteries to Afghanistan from Karachi.
Another political administration official, who wished not to be named, revealed that Niaz Wali was receiving threats from militants to pay ransom and was threatened of an attack in case of refusal to pay.
The official said the amount of ransom could not be ascertained.
