LAHORE:

The Fifth Lahore International Children’s Films Festival, featuring 94 films from 27 countries including 13 from Pakistan, will be held at the Alhamra Cultural Complex from September 16 to 21.

The festival is being organised by Little Art, a not-for-profit organisation that promotes arts education, in collaboration with the Culture and Youth Affairs Department. Children from shelter homes and special schools are being invited.

The 94 films to be shown were selected from 400 entries from 35 countries. The local films include three produced by National College of Arts students. The organisers said that there had been a huge response from international filmmakers when entries were invited in May, but the response from within Pakistan was poor and deadlines had to be repeatedly extended to get more local movies. The festival programme can be viewed at www.lahorechildrenfilm.com.

Little Art is also organising the 2nd ArtBeat Exhibition starting on September 16 at the Alhamra.
