Explosion in train : Security guard injured in accident

An explosion in a train’s bathroom left a security guard injured while causing panic among the passengers.

HYDERABAD: An explosion in a train’s bathroom left a security guard injured while also causing panic among the passengers. A thorough search was later conducted by the bomb disposal squad. The incident happened in the Karachi-bound Shalimar Night Coach when it moved a few kilometres away from Daur railway station in Benazirabad district. The blast ripped off the bathroom’s roof and also damaged some parts of bogey but the passengers remained unscathed. According to the technicians, the explosion occurred in the compressor of the air conditioner which was fitted over it. The injured guard was identified as Raheel, a resident of Lahore. The train was allowed to proceed to its destination at around 5 pm.
