RAWALPINDI: Traders from Rawalpindi on Tuesday demanded increased security in and around major markets as shoppers have started showing up in markets in large numbers ahead of Eid. President Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran Sheikh Siddiqui and President Moti Bazaar Chaudhry Iqbal said in a statement that deployment of police personnel was not enough in market areas as compare to the strength of the shoppers. “In order to avoid untoward incidents the government needs to be proactive and ensure the security of the citizens,” said Raja Dilbahar, another trader.
