CHARSADDA: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Minister for Information Shaukat Ali Yousafzai said on Saturday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will not allow military operation on Pukhtun soil.

He was speaking to the media after visiting flood-affected areas of Charsadda district. Yousafzai reiterated PTI’s stance on drone attacks in the tribal areas saying they violate Pakistan’s sovereignty. “However, the provincial government cannot stop these attacks as the matter comes under the federal government,” Yousafzai said. The minister further said, “In these hard times, the government will not turn a blind eye to the flood-affected people and will utilise all resources on an emergency basis to help them.”

Yousafzai also lashed out at the previous government saying due to its incompetence K-P had suffered both human and material losses in the 2010 floods. The provincial information minister and K-P Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser visited various flood-affected areas including Shaikh Kallay, Agra, Tarkha and Garhi Muhkam Shah.
