QUETTA:

A non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued by the Anti-Terrorist Court in Quetta to former president Pervez Musharraf and former prime minister Shaukat Aziz in the Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti murder case.

The warrant has also been issued to former Balochistan governor Owais Ahmed Ghani and former district coordination officer of Dera Bugti Abdul Samad Lasi in the same case.

ATC Quetta-I judge Muhammad Ismail was hearing the case in the provincial capital on Tuesday.

During the hearing, nominated accused Aftab Ahmed Sherpao, former Balochistan home minister Shoaib Nosherwani and the attorneys of other parties also appeared before the court.

After the issuance of warrants the court adjourned the case till June 24. The court reserved judgment on a bail after arrest petition filed by Pervez Musharraf’s lawyer, Muhammad Illyas Advocate, after completion of arguments. The judgment is likely to be announced on Tuesday (today).

Musharraf is already under house arrest at his Chak Shahzad farmhouse on the outskirts of Islamabad after the Islamabad High Court approved his trial in a case pertaining to judges’ detention in 2007.
