SUKKUR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Sardar Muqeem Khoso emerged victorious against Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz’s (PML-N) Aslam Abro after a recount of the polls at Jacobabad on Saturday.

Abro had won the seat according to the May 11 election results but Khoso was dissatisfied with the outcome. He went to the Sindh High Court and pleaded that the votes at polling station number 38 of Government Primary School Hawaldar Brohi should be recounted.

The recounting was done under the supervision of the district returning officer, district and sessions judge Amjad Hussain Bohio, and returning officer Ramesh Lal. Khoso won 15,838 votes, while Abro lost with 15,776 votes. PPP had earlier won two national and three provincial seats and had lost PS-14 to PML-N but now they have bagged all the seats in Jacobabad.
