Dasti, however, decided to give his vote to PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif for the role of the prime minister and hoped to work towards the prosperity of the country.
Dasti won two seats from NA-178 (Muzaffargarh-III) and NA-177 (Muzaffargarh-II) constituencies as an independent candidate after quitting the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
It is likely that he will keep the NA-178 seat and his brother Javed Dasti may retain the NA-177 seat as an independent candidate.
In an attempt to rope support, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman also invited Jamshed Dasti to join his party.

Jamshed Dsati should join PTI. I dont think Nawaz League will survive 5 years. In any case he is better off with PTI. He should now work for people so should his brother.
He will eventually end up joining Sharif. It's not a complicated matter of if, it's a simple matter of when.
I salute Jamshid Dasti he has proven all those naysayers wrong who claim Pakistani electorate is sheep and doesn't know the difference btw good and bad politicians. Who cares even if he can read or write I am sure he can so degree fuss was useless. I salute that he won these seats in a backward area where big landowners are a big deal. It is a great achievement and it is a credit to the man that he has proven if you do the work people will repose confidence in you. Hence I urge all young people who wanted to do something to come out and participate in the process. I think PTI could be good home for him but it is his personal choice.
Infact, it is PML N who refused to join Mr. Dasti
JUI-F is a sad case. They are power greedy and money greedy
Dasti didn't declined it. PML-N did not accept his demand to choose a candidate himself for by election.
All the fuss about the fake degree aside, I have huge respect for Mr Dasti particularly in regards to his behaviour in the context of the floods a few years back. Personally, I would encourage him to disregard personal glory and concentrate on self-respect for himself and his people. Joining PTI would be a politically unsavvy move but in my opinion it'll turn out to be the right one when the qaum turns on the PML-N in a few years time (my prediction).
