The survey by Heinrich Boll Stiftung showed that 29 per cent of the people surveyed would support the PPP, the highest number for any political party surveyed by the company.
Nearly 25 per cent said they would support the main opposition party, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), led by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Another 20 per cent supported the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by former cricketer Imran Khan.
Citing strong polling figures for the PTI, the survey also noted that the post election government would have to stand up to a strong political opposition.
In the 2008 elections that were boycotted by the Pakistan-Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) under the leadership of Imran Khan, the PPP won 30.8 per cent of votes, while the PML-N came second with 23.1 per cent.
This survey is in sharp contrast with the last IRI survey that was done on 4,997 people, 32 per cent of whom preferred the PML-N as preferred majority party in the federal parliament.
This figure was up from 28 per cent from the last survey that the agency conducted over two months in July and August last year.

If PPP comes again into regime as has been showing in these poll results then Pakistan once again is going towards economically destruction......
This survey result looks far more credible and closer to ground realities unlike the two previous ones one of which showed PML N in the lead and the other favored the PTI.However the PPP must take steps to improve its governance if voted to power again by the people.
Provincial survey of political parties done by Henrich Boll Stiftung is needed as Punjab's vote contibutes more than 55 percent to the total vote base so provincial survey needed if pml n gets all that 25 percent from Punjab than it can make the federal government
in order to comment on the results i would like to see the provincial survey done by Henrich Boll shifting Provincial version is needed as Punjab contributes more than 55 percent to the the vote base. If pml n is getting all those twenty five percent from Punjab than it can make the federal government as ppp vote base is split up
@Jibran I am shoked all the people who hate humanity and low/middle class people are anti-PPP.... Also those people has on thing common in them and that is mind waching ability to exploit the people for their personal interests.
@Dean: Surveys cant replace General Election,I am PPPP supporter and I believe that every party should compete which each other because in democracy competition helps everybody to improve,I personally dislike Nawaz Sharif how can he refuses to Asif Ali Zardari even for condolence of his brother when in the time of trouble Zardari stood by him.As far as PTI concerned i am a leftist and leftist will never vote for PTI,PML-N,JI.In current political situation no party can get simple majority,my PTI supporter friends have to be realistic 2/3 majority mean 257seats,It will be a another collation government.
Surveys like these, are a new innovation in the pre-poll rigging. Unfortunately the results have already been engineered to bring Nawaz Shareef and maintain the status quo. These surveys just serves to mentally prepare the innocent public of upcoming results. Election commission has been totally failed to stop such actions which could influence the fair and free election process.
For once it is heartening to note that a survey has gravitated towards PPP, which has been pariah of the reactionary forces in this country from the very beginning. Even 43 years back, the rightist surveys obliterated PPP and the other progressive parties, and continue to do so todate. Kudos to the German surveyors for at least acknowledging the strong presence of this party.
PPP all the way!!
Joke of the year. Only choice is PML(N).
and what was the sample size if their survey???? The namaloom afrads are here as well...
Need to know about survey sample and regions...
Survey was conducted in German. Participants were all at smiles and the surveyors felts ppl are happy in the land of the pure :p
PPPP will emerge as a single largest party in NA, with PTI and PMN-L coming second and third.
well i totally agree with survey because only urban middle class mullah minded peoples are against the PPP and when they oppose ppp they have valid ground to it 1. they thrive under military rule cause they think pakistan ends where their city ends they dont know its the peoples of interior pakistan who actually give their blood.. lost their beloved for this very democracy where they can say any thing humiliate any politician and sleep on their cozy beds let me tell you freedom of expression is the supreme bliss any nation can have and its only comes with democracy ... yes they are corrupt incompetent and so on but have you seen pakistan society as whole... sorry to say the society of pakistan is corrupt and these politician are just mirror to that and those who pray for another MARD-i-MOMIM MARD-i-HAQ if he comes then it will be hard for you the find a zardari who can say pakistan khappy i dont mind if nawaz, imran,or zardari is chosen for next term as long if the chosen by vote he will by my prime minister
@Fanta:
Or, on the contrary, may be its you who's delusional!
PPP will come to power and in 5 years Pakistan wont be on the map of the world. HAHA.
PMLN will be in power in next election, PPPP will be second largest party, ANP & MQM will be 3rd or 4th largest, PTI, JUI or JI will follow them.
PTI will win again . IN SHAA ALLAH
All polls wil be manuplated by maestro, Zardari all, parties will be bribed , brow beaten and broken by Zardari . It will be PPP again
ppp will again come to power.
To all those who said @Voice of D.I Khan is dreaming or he will be surprised. Either you are not living in Pakistan or belong to elite group and get your fair share from corrupt parties. If educated people will not support PTI than I feel sorry for Pakistan.
I am not saying PTI is all angel, but he is better than the rest and should be given chance instead of getting raped again and again.
@Abdullah: So Gillani's Gallup survey is credible yeah. This gillani guy was advisor of Nawaz Sharif in 90's when he was PM.
yes..PPP always listen the voice of poor, oppressed deprived peoples. And this is only federal party. So to make Pakistan Federation strong I will vote PPP. PTI has no agenda
InshaAllah PPP will again win by the support of the true democratic people of Pakistan.
No wonder @ Voice of D.I.Khan getting 58 recommends and rest all who are ridiculing him have none....speaks too much about whats gonna happen to status quo in coming elections
PTI vote bank has increased 465% whereas vote bank of PPP has decreased by 31% n PMLN vote has decrease by 3% according to SDPI survey.
This shows PTI is eroding vote bank of both PPP n PMLN, also, PTI enjoys majority of new vote that consitutes 4 crore out of 8 crores.
That is why IK says. clean sweep is confirm. And, it is quite reallistic. All PTI supporters and workers must focus and strengethen your instead ob being demotivated.
I sincerely hope people of Pakistan can wake up now!! but thanks to the feudal system I am not too hopeful that any change can happen corruption is in each and every drop of blood in our so called political leaders the only hope is Imran and wish him all the best!! I sincerely pray for him. He is the man of courage and really means business. He is the true Lion not a paper tiger who ran away for decades to Safe heavens!
The people of Pakistan are again willing to reelect PPP. Long Live peacefull Pakistan Long live PPP
Lol at the sample size.
For our progressive future the people of Pakistan are willing to reelect PPPP. We understand the hurdles and also known the forces who are working against our country and its best interests.Long Live Pakistan . Long Live PPPP
Don't take these 'paid' surveys seriously. They generalise Pakistan on the urban, upper middle class coffee-tea-company crowd. Worthless.
All results of surveys will prove to be wrong when the election results will be announced after the election is held by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
@ Voice of D.I.Khan and 58 others who recommended this post
Be realistic guys.
@Voice of D.I.Khan:
No harm in dreaming even with your eyes wide open :D Trust that you would care to wake up on election day and feel the sensation of aghast and astonishment when you hear that PTI ended up doing what it does best - U-Turn/Boycott.
I tell you what the results will astonish these pundits and all these surveys will go down the drain. Just wait for the neutral election setup and see where it heads. Starting from 23rd March, there will be no stopping PTI, Inshallah.
@Voice of D.I.Khan: Pakistan is not a country with surprises
@Voice of D.I.Khan: It will only happen when "FARISHTAY" will vote for them.
Who paid this German company?
You all will be astonished when PTI will gain 2/3 Majority, Inshallah...
Why are these surveys providing so different results? Now we need a survey to survey these surveys :) and explain the causes of discrepancies
