ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned till Wednesday the hearing of the case regarding irregularities in the advertisement campaign of the Universal Service Fund.

The counsel for Midas advertising agency Yaseen Azad maintained that the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules do not apply to his client.

The government selects an advertising agency according to its policy, he said.

Azad claimed that the agency keeps 15% of the total amount of advertising while the rest goes to media.

Justice Jawad said that PPRA rules should be followed when any money is being released from the public treasury. The court on plea of Azad adjourned the hearing till Wednesday.

The court also heard arguments from the counsels for the USF and the former chief executive of the USF.
