RAHIM YAR KHAN: As many as 817,515 children were administered polio vaccine in a three-day campaign in the district, Executive District Officer Dr Fayyaz Hussain said on Monday. The campaign was held from December 17 to December 19. Of those immunised, 7,721 were children of nomad families. Performance-wise, the officer said that the campaign in Rahim Yar Khan had been most successful. He said that parents of 191 children had refused to immunise their children. However, they had later let their children be immunised after they were counselled by polio workers and briefed about the importance of vaccination. “Thankfully, no child was left unimmunised in the district.”
