KARACHI: The code of conduct drafted by Election Commission of Pakistan in by-polls has been violated in Punjab, alleged Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, he accused the Punjab government of using state machinery to rig the elections. The Pakistan Peoples Party leader said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief should avoid misleading the masses.

Memon advised the Sharif brothers to make a new local government law in Punjab rather than relying on a system introduced by their political rival, General Pervez Musharraf.
