ISLAMABAD: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Thursday vowed to complete a multi-billion dollar gas pipeline to Pakistan on time, downplaying financial woes and US pressure to scrap the project.
Pakistan and Iran signed a deal in 2010 under which Tehran would supply gas from 2014, with sales to reach up to one billion cubic feet per day by mid-2015.
The project envisaged a pipeline, 900 kilometres in length built from Assaluyeh in southern Iran to the border with Pakistan.
Another 800 kilometres pipeline was also needed inside Pakistan to receive gas from Iran’s South Pars field in the Gulf.
“We want to complete this project by 2014,” Ahmadinejad told a press conference in Islamabad.

2015: Iran is supplying 500 million cubic feet per day natural gas to Pakistan. Since there is no gas pipeline in Pakistan to connect this supply to its main line, so people of Baluchistan are consuming the gas by receiving it in plastic shopping bags at Rs. 20 per kg.
This is good for Pakistan.................the problem is that our leaders just don't WANT to see it that way and they are incapable of seeing that what is good for Pakistan is essentialy good for themselves...............well we can only hope.
Lets do it. The earlier the better.
