Higher education: 10,000 scholarships announced

Scholarships to be awarded through student financial aid offices established in 60 public higher education institutes.

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced 10,000 local scholarships under its 2012 need-based policy. The scholarships will be given to exceptional students who are unable to finance their education, especially those belonging to rural areas.

According to an HEC press release, the scholarships will cover tuition fees, books, accommodation as well as transport costs of students. Special emphasis will be given to students in Balochistan, Federally Administered Tribal Areas, interior Sindh and southern Punjab.

The scholarships will be awarded through student financial aid offices established in 60 public higher education institutions. Application forms can be obtained from these offices.

Good move knowledge is the way forward for our nation. I was thinking myself that from next year I should sponsor an unpriveliged student's education. God Bless!!
