KARACHI:

Iran registered another win at the 2nd Asia Kabaddi Cup, beating Sri Lanka 66-14 to remain in contention for a place in the final of the event being played at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore.

While India and Pakistan remain favourites to book a place in the final, outsiders Iran are giving ample proof of their mettle and will be able to cause an upset in case one of the two giants slip up.

In the late matches Friday night, Pakistan withstood a great challenge by Nepal but eventually won 53-21. Meanwhile, India had an easy outing against Sri Lanka as they won 55-15 against the Islanders.
