Interior Minister Rehman Malik informed the media on Thursday that the two men who shot Malala Yousafzai on Tuesday have been identified, Express News reported.
Malik said that it has been figured out that who plotted the conspiracy against Malala and from where. He added that the president has ordered for Malala to be shifted to Germany.
The minister also appealed to the ulema of the country to pass a fatwa against the attack.
Earlier, Malik had ordered the IG Police to make permanent security arrangements for Malala.
Malala was shot along with two other friends when she was on her way home from school on Tuesday. The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had claimed responsibility for the attack calling Malala “pro-West”.

I a recent drone attack several Kids died, but since no Malala in them hence Media is silent.

American media is pretty awful. I think ET does an excellent job. And the comments are so much better than in most popular American sites. Pakistanis write in MUCH better English than Americans, and they actually discuss the issues in the article whereas, in the USA, people mostly just get nasty.

This is the work of American CIA. They are successful in changing mindset of masses who now are asking military to go into North Waziristan and fight terrorists. Before that the nation and military both were against any operation there.

Its very strange that Mr. Malik requesting to Ulma to give fatawa against the identified shooters which seems that there is no rule of law in this country if Ulma will not give fatawa than what acctions should be taken against those shooters
@KHAWAJA UMER FAROOQ: WOW,you say that "Thousands of Malala like children have lost their lives in US Drone attacks...."! Please give us a reference for your "thousands of children" number! And as you should know, the drone targets are picked out by foreward observers (ISI agents?) in the target area, and I seriously doubt that those "agents" would target children! Now compare this to the Malala incident where the TTP stopped the bus she was riding on, asked for her by name, and then shot her at point blank range!

He always said, identification of all miscreants so far..whether is Lalosar, Kohistan, Quetta, PAF air base and so forth..BUT..never showed anyone apprehending...Just throwing up...
Several US news papers including New York Times, Wall street journal published Malala Yosef Zai story on front page with pictures of Malala. Now people of Pakistan are astonish to see the double standard of US media. Thousand of Malala like children have lost their lives in US drone attacks in same area but US media never raise any voice and publish any picture of these US drone affected children. Now US media is using this incident for political gains which is very shameful and unfortunate. Attacking on incent children like Malala by militants or by US Drones is heinous acts we should condemn both type of actions.
Give poor people a break Mr Rehman Malik. You have issued numerous statements in the past relating to many issues besetting the country but they proved to be absolutely hollow. Umpteen times you have claimed to know who was responsible for ongoing mayhem in the country but no one took you seriously.
This time once again you have come up with yet another statement in which you have claimed the identification of two TTP murderers who shot at Malala and her friends including Shazia. If that is the case then don't waste time and capture these beasts dead or alive. But I am confident that this was yet another irresponsible statement.
You are playing with the life of the poor girl who is fighting for her life and you have deferred her evacuation to Europe or Ametica where there are centres of excellence and expertise as well. I was appalled to see the state of bed she was lying and the monitoring equipment at her bed side were antiques. Rehman Malik is instrumental in reframing her transfer by air ambulance abroad.

The print media is reporting her name correctly. It's Mal-lala with the sound of -ah at the end (i.e. in Ummah) not Malalaaa as the anchors in electronic media pronounce it. I know it coz coincidentally my niece's name is Malala too :) Anywasy, it's always hard for the rest of Pakistanis to pronounce Pakhtun names like Tor Pekay (the leading Pakistani squash player from Waziristan).
To the people wanting to know why the other two girls aren't named, it is simple. They're minors and chances are their parents haven't given any consent. Milala is different because she's already a public figure. Furthermore, if not before, those two other girls are also targets for not cooperating and it'll just make it easier for them to get shot again.
Also, Mr. Rehman Malik. Everyone knows who shot her. They made sure everyone did. It is not reassuring, it's pointing out the obvious.
Who trusts this man. He is treated as a Joke in the Pack of PPP. Is the President a neuro surgeon or doctor who can decide where she should go for treatment. It is the prerogative of the doctors treating Malala. Please do not poke your nose in this matter. If Fahmida Mirza can get treatment at public expenditure in Texas why can't Malala. Fahmeeda and her husband each own Sugar Mills. They have enough money from black market sale of Sugar. Despite this she siphoned off the Public money for her treatment. President Obama has offered special Ambulance Aircraft and perhaps the treatment will be free. The President and his Minister are throwing spanner to slow down the treatment abroad.

The name is mala-lai, not malala. i wonder why is it such a problem for folks from urban pakistan to pronounce the names from peripheries. i have seen names of the people changed forever as the school teacher from karachi/lahore/hyderabad did not bothered to learn the proper name of the pupil and registered the names as they deemed fit.

That is why there can never be a movement or momentum against them. That is they have the movement (like Imran "Taliban" Khan) and the momentum. That is why there is a call to bring out the rose petals. It's not your fault really. It is the result of "Pakistan ka matlab kya hain..." policy.
Not a singular mullah has condemned the attack. To them the killing of a child at the hand of a terrorist is justified, but the killing of the same terrorists at the hand of Americans is not. This sickening mentality must be confronted if we want to save our children, women, and men from these barbarians. We need more of the drones.
Ignore the politics; take the other serious injured girl along with Malala to better trauma care facility where experts are plenty and resources are unlimited.
Saving Malala and her friends is a symbolic gesture of efforts in saving Pakistan from the brewing calamity.

Why need a fatwa anyway to condemn this? We all are Muslims, educated and understand our religion reasonably well. We know this act was a heinous crime and culprits should be apprehended irrespective of any fatwa. No organised religion of the world condones or should condone such crimes. So Mr. Rahman please now do your job of arresting these criminals instead of issuing polarizing statements to confuse and divide the people even further.

I hope Malala will recover fully, continue her studies in Swat which would be a success story against this awful plague affecting life in Pakistan. She has shown tremendous bravery against such odds, deserves to live a full life. It is good to see the institutions, the President and political parties are taking a common stand. Let's hope her persecutors will soon be caught and be done justice. Shame on them, shooting a minor. No where in the Holy Book is such an act justified.

Mr.Malik has no credibility and whatever he says should be taken with the grain of salt. We are praying for Malala and " two other friends". Why is it so that ET does not mention the names of other 2 children who were also shot. Please pray for them too they are also just innocent young kids and were shot of no fault of their own. Expose the names and print the pictures of these murderers who has no qualms to kill anyone in the name of God and our religion Islam. Their brand of religion is so very twisted, I don't think our prophet Mohammad (pbuh) would have approved the killing of any Innocent person. He was forgiving person and we should follow his teachings, the world would be a peaceful place.

I wouldn't trust anything this guy says. He has lied several times in the past (including the truth about his dual nationality to honorable courts).
President Zardari needs to come out and say it in a press conference. But I've only heard soft words from these guys only 'condemning' the attacks (typical routine). They just want to enjoy 4,5 months more in office and then move abroad with their kids and enjoy spending the loot they did in 5 years.
We need to build up a national agenda and oust these taliban animals on all channels and medias and tell them that every Pakistan hates them
