JAMRUD:

Two vehicles supplying goods for Nato troops in Afghanistan were partially damaged when two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) went off in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency on Monday.

No loss of life was reported according to Azmatullah Wazir, an official of the political administration. The official added that the first IED was planted by militants to target Nato vehicles.

The second IED exploded near Sur Kamar checkpoint on Pak-Afghan Highway.

Haji Afzal Afridi, a tribesman from Jamrud, said that he refrained from going out due to regular explosions on the roads after the Nato supply line was reopened.

“Not just me, but college and schools students have been psychologically affected by the daily explosions,” Haji said.

It was the ninth explosion in the past 45 days after the supply line was re-opened last year.
