Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda has made an appeal on his blog to his fans to help out with relief efforts in Pakistan.

Shinoda wrote a blog about the floods that have affected more than 20 million people and asked his fans to donate to ease the misery of the victims through an initiative called Music for Relief (MFR). The post states ways to contribute:

Make a donation to help victims of the Pakistan Floods today. Go to www.musicforrelief.org/donate to make a contribution. 100% of your donations will help survivors in Pakistan; MFR is matching individual donations up to $10,000 for this recovery effort.

Or support MFR’s Pakistan Flood Relief on Socialvibe.com.

Go to http://www.socialvibe.com/musicforrelief and complete the activities. Even if you are unable to make a financial donation, you can help those affected by the Floods on Socialvibe.com.

Anam | 13 years ago | Reply Wow! Oblivious to your music, I never did really give it a hear. But now I am tempted to. The US has always been a catalyst in philanthropic works. Even though ,more than not, she usually has her agenda behind it but lets not 'judge' this act of benevolence on any scale. The entire country is donating and such big musicians have started to listen to the calling; to their hearts. The word 'Thankyou' does not envelop our feelings of pride, appreciation and humility. Still, from the student community of Pakistan, Thankyou Linkin Park..Thankyou Mike Shinoda. May Almighty bless you for this. U have made the US, your fans and the entire humanity glee with pride. Yes,yes it is 'ONE WORLD'!!

Ammad | 13 years ago | Reply For all those who say US is helping Pakistan and where are our so called Muslim Brothers, oblivious people Saudi Arabia is the biggest donor who pledged 10 crore dollars for helping Pakistanis and his highness King Fahad has also appealed Saudis to donate generously. Keep in mind these capitalists always invest, don't give aid, even their wars are investments. They don't jump into anything before knowing that they will get something in return. You should now understand that because US and its allies are being hammered in Afghanistan that is why they are feeling the need of having people to people contacts and all this rhetoric. In return my dear gullible friends they would start interfering in our matters more and would even be telling us whether this road should be constructed or not.

And the step you have taken for flood victims in Pakistan just added great respect for you in my my heart. I hope you people contribute in donations too. What about a charity concert. And for the people out there, please help the flood effected Pakistanis by any mean. And stop criticizing government. Can't we just highlight the good work going on so that others are also encouraged rather then pointing fingers at discrepancies in government effort. What is the point of all that negative impression?

Furhtermore, it does not stop there. Nadia Ali, known for her club tunes, has also tweeted and posted on Facebook about the blogs and asks people to donate to UNICEF.
