KHAIRPUR: A woman and a man were paraded naked by the Khairpur Police on July 27 on allegations of “intent of adultery” while onlookers recorded videos with their cell phones, reported BBC Urdu on Saturday.

The police, who were witnesses to the case themselves, have remained unavailable to comment.

According to the case registered for the incident, “the police received a tip-off about a man named Mumtaz Hussain Mir Beher who had called on two women for adultery. When the police reached his house, they found him sitting with two women in his arms. No other witnesses were present at the moment, so the two police officials present were taken as witnesses to the case,” as quoted by the BBC Urdu report.

As the officers paraded the man and the women through the streets, eyewitnesses speaking to BBC Urdu said that they had told the SHO that he was not doing the right thing. As if acknowledging the protest, the officer made the naked woman sit in the police van and paraded the man up to the police station.

Witnesses added that the second woman was fully dressed.

The report added that Beher was a local dealer and has been released on bail, while the two women are in Larkana Jail.

However, Beher alleged the police were conspiring against him and had meted him injustice. He added that he has filed a petition against the incident in the Sindh High Court which has been admitted to be heard on August 8.

Absolutely disgusting act my police. No one got the right to violate someones personal privacy barrier, especially when it comes to women. Every individual involved should be sacked and punished, of course mullahs would disagree with me.

Police cannot be a witness into any case.

Under the police supervision there are number of brothel are working, why don’t the police take action against the brothel – the reason is that police get money from such brothel.

The most corrupt of Police in Pakistan also have some police officials who are God fearing but all of them are working at the lower levels.

Chief Justice of Pakistan should take suo-moto action in this case and registered a case against the police official who have become a witness in this case.

If the man and woman have been asked to parade naked by the police then what is the difference between the police and a Jirga who order similar punishment to the people without in-depth investigating the case.

Under what law women and man were forced to walk naked? Who gave the authority to Police to punish without judicial procedure? How they dared to make women naked?????? This is a country not jungle. We have Judiciary, Parliament and Executive, their powers are written in the constitution, our constitution or law does not permit Police to do what they like, they must act according to the the law…….. This is a shameful and cowardice act done by police. I have no other words to condemn this act.

Is it not a sin to strip a lady and parade her naked?
Every adult male by instinct is a potential adulterer. Would police arrest them all?
No disrespect to the people, but Khairpur is becoming famous due to false claims lately!
The only punishment for the police I can think of is strip them naked and hang them near beehives for a few days. The police was actually upset that the man was with two women and it made them envious.

Disgusting. Police is nothing but an incompetent force of insane chaps in uniform with a license to carry a weapon in Pakistan. The country needs a revolution. A private force!Recommend

Very good action by the police !!

This man was caught with prostitutes and his neighbors were complaining that he was having drunk dance parties in Ramadan almost every night.

If you have no shame doing Adultery then you shouldn’t have shame in being paraded naked for your actions.

Under sharia law the police and the one who complained should be held responsible not the ‘victims’ what two people do in privacy is not the third parties business

Unless we set an example by punishing a few of such people who take law in their own hands we will continue to see cases like these and unfortunate incidents like the one that happened in Sialkot.
Put these cops behind the bars for a few years and highlight this incident on all national news channels exposing every cop involved so that every single policeman knows what can happen to them if they ever try to cross the limits.

Are you for real?! If you’re being sarcastic you’re not very good at it.

These people were forced to do it by the police as opposed to Ukranian feminists who did it volunteerly as part of some bizarre protest.
