Bilateral ties: New Italian ambassador calls on Khar

Discusses international and regional issues of mutual interest, including Afghanistan.

ISLAMABAD: Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani, the new Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan, paid a courtesy call to Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Tuesday. The foreign minister welcomed the ambassador and highlighted Pakistan’s excellent relations with Italy. She underlined the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and investment particularly in the sectors of energy and infrastructure. She appreciated Italy’s support for development and humanitarian assistance to Pakistan. They also discussed international and regional issues of mutual interest, including Afghanistan.
