Polio vaccination: Drive reopens in Badin

More than 25,000 children in the district will be vaccinated.

BADIN: A three-day polio campaign has begun in Badin. Teams from Civil hospital are going to people’s homes and giving children who are less than five years old the polio vaccine. According to district health officer, Abdul Sattar Channa, the campaign will till July 18 and more than 25,000 children in the district will be vaccinated. He said more than 725 teams have been set up and out of them 625 teams are mobile, while the rest will be at camps set up at government health centres and in the cities. Though Badin is marked as the ‘red’ zone for polio but according to Channa there hasn’t been a polio case in the district yet.
