Abdul Qadir Gilani denies hand in tv show controversy

MULTAN: Terming his participation in a two hour special programme co-hosted by Mubashir Lucman and Meher Bokhari, as inadvertent, Abdul Qadir Gilani said that his telephonic call in during the off-air recording of the Dunya Tv show was prompted by Lucman’s call.

“My call was never planned in the interview and it is a conspiracy against me,” MPA Gillani said.

Being the son of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and recently implicated in a false case of fraud, GIlani told media at an industrial estate in Multan that he had been travelling on Wednesday, the day the programme was aired.

He added that it was Lucman who had initially called him, but had cut the call before Gilani could pick it. The MPA recounted that this prompted him to return the anchor’s phone call out of courtesy. “Anybody can check the records,” he said.

Gilani continued, when Lucman answered Gilani’s call, the Dunya Tv anchor asked whether he was watching the show. Gilini said he replied in the negative owing to the fact he was travelling.

The MPA said that then Lucman insisted Gilani speak with Malik Riaz on the telephone, to which he agreed. Gilani maintained at the press talk that he had spoken to Malik Riaz after almost two years, and that they only exchanged pleasantries, and Riaz asked Gilani to pray for him.

The MPA reminded the mediapersons that politicians have contact with a range of people, and that this is natural.

Gilani said that he will not become part of any conspiracy at any cost.

    Any thing that happens to any body in this country is a conspiracy. Cj’s son took money for whatever reason, it is now a conspiracy against Judiciary. Two talk show hosts did a planted interview. when it was leaked it became a conspiracy against media. What a non sense we have engaged ourselves in to

    @niaz: Niaz It was not conspiracy theory when they blame Irsalan but is conspiracy when they try to involve Jusdiciary in it. Anyway Riaz failed in his plan against Judiciary.

    Anyway we all beleive that Irsalan was involved in this money scandal but CJ had not involvment in it that i very clear.

    I’m in no way as important a person as Mr Gilani but when I see missed calls from unknown numbers and no voicemail, i never bother to call back expecting the person to call news back if they need to contact me.
    In short, i call BS to Gilani’s explanation…

    @ammar:
    If you saw the video the Jr Gilani seems to be speaking truth. It was Mr Lucqman who was talking on mobile and he just handed over to Malik Riaz saying to him to talk to Qadir Gilani. Now the circumstances narrated by Jr Gilani coincide with the event which at least I saw with my own eyes on TV. So why not give him benefit of doubt and consider him speaking the truth.

    “Bunny ai kee keeta? Bus dua karo.” This was the conversation of Malik Riaz with his innocent nephew, Bunny a.k.a. Abdul Qadir Gillani – MPA

    Even if it assumed for awhile that he responded to a missed call then:
    1> Why did he have a very short yes/no conversation with Mubashir Lickman?
    2> Why did he talk to Riaz thekedar?
    3> How come Riaz thekedar calls him “Bunny”?
    4> Why does Riaz thekedar tell him to do “dua”?
    5> Is Bunny himself caught up in any corruption allegation?
    6> Is Rao Shakeel his personal friend or not?
    7> Were the investigators rapidly changed in “Hajj Scandal”?
    8> Who is Zain Sukhera?
    9> Who is Ayaz Khan Niazi??

    O God, purge our country from these looters! Recommend

    If you watch the video again, Mubashir is heard saying:

    1) Theek ho raha hai? (Asking him whether the interview is going well?)
    2) Mouqa tou de raha hoon! (I am giving a chance to thekedaar to speak and say the things he wants to)
    3) Yeh mujhe Hamid Mir ka naam nahi lenay de rahay, in ko kaho mujhe Hamid Meer ka naam lenay dien (Tell Thekedar to let me say the name of Hamid Mir in the live show)

    This clearly shows that he was watching the show and very much giving the feedback on minor points including the fact that Thekedar should be given more time to speak.

    If he wasn’t watching the show then there was no point of the three things mubashir said as abdul qadir would have no idea what he was talking about …
