Twitter alert: Get lost NATO

"You are war criminals with suits and ties," says one local Twitter user.

Web Desk May 11, 2012

Since its arrival in Afghanistan, Nato has been generally loathed by Pakistanis. The hatred, however, reached new heights when a Nato airstrike on Pakistani check post killed 24 soldiers last year.

With the government blocking Nato supply routes to Afghanistan, and the ensuing freeze in US-Pak ties, Pakistanis protested against Nato's presence in the region.

Taking the protest online, some local twitter users started a trend #GetLostNATO where people tweeted, calling Nato to end the war and leave the war-torn region.

@Shyam: to Abbas "How many wars have Muslims won in the last 100 years?" I think you missed a zero at the trailing end. I believe you meant 1000 instead of 100!
