Police arrest 2 Lyari gang war suspects in Karachi

Arrested suspects have confessed to killing four people.

KARACHI: The Special Investigative Unit (SIU) of Karachi Police has arrested two most-wanted suspects belonging to the Lyari Gangwar, Express News reported on Wednesday.

The suspects have confessed to killing four people, police claimed.

During a press conference, SIU SP Khurram Waris siaid that suspects, Irfan (alias Fauji) and Dilawar, belong to the Sohail Dada group of Lyari gang war. Heavy arms were also recovered from them.

The suspects confessed to firing rockets and throwing hand grenades at the police during the Lyari operation, and were also allegedly involved in cases of kidnapping-for-ransom and extortion.

During the recent police operation in Lyari, the SIU had made claims of arresting as many as 20 suspects involved in Lyari gang war and said that some of them even have bounty on their heads.
