ISLAMABAD:

After investigations into the death of a naib-qasid (office boy) at Inspector General of Police’s office on Thursday, the city police have determined that he committed suicide. A police official said Gul Faraz, 56 had been in a state of trauma for unknown reasons for the past six months.

“He had hallucinations. He was probably under some spell or something,” said the official. Another of his colleagues at the IGP office said the naib qasid has been on leave during this period. He said the high-ups knew about his medical condition; however, he was not aware if the department sent him for treatment.

Faraz, father of five, sent his two of his sons out and shot himself in the chest with his 12-bore shotgun at his residence in I-10. His family members were not at home when he committed suicide. Later, one of his sons discovered his body and informed the Rescue 15 police.
