KARACHI:

A masseuse identified as 22-year-old Waqas was arrested in the murder case of Dawn’s senior assistant editor and Magazines editor. The police claim that they had arrested the suspect from Gizri and his accomplice was still on the run.

According to Waqas, Razvi met them in Zamzama. He had met them twice before. The police suspect that the 25-year-old accomplice lived in Shah Latif but escaped by the time the police arrived. While speaking at a press conference at South SSP Nasir Aftab’s office, Saddar division SP Dr Farrukh Ahmed said that the police had investigated the case from different angles.

After tracing the cell phone, witnesses, CCTV footage and checking forensic evidence the police discovered that the cummerbund and maroon shalwar kameez found at the murder site belonged to Waqas. SSP Aftab said that it was possible that they had wanted to mug him but did not get the opportunity.
