Bannu jailbreak probe: Khyber-Pakhunkhtwa govt inquiry panel visits prison

Committee members asks residents to come forward with information, promising to protect identities.

BANNU: Members of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government’s inquiry committee visited Bannu Central Jail on Monday to begin a probe into last week’s brazen attack at the prison.

The members will speak to prisoners and jail staff to collect evidence on the attack. The committee comprises Ihsanul Haq, Masood Khan Afridi, Mushtaq Jadoon and Alamgir Shah.

They visited parts of the jail and inspected the main gate, walls and other areas that were damaged in the jailbreak.

Committee members will stay at Bannu Circuit House, and have appealed to residents to come meet them and share any information they may have regarding the attack. The residents have been assured that their names will not be disclosed.
