ISLAMABAD:

With the wedding season in full swing and gold rates increasing all time high, jewellery lovers in the capital city are increasingly resorting to more affordable alternatives.

While investors are skeptical about decrease in gold rates, one can only dream of having too many jewellery pieces and trinkets to add that oomph to one’s wardrobe.

Taking advantage of this shift towards less pricey options, Sidra Naeem, a well-known designer, has launched her own collection of silver for those who love exquisite jewellery but want to go easy on their pockets.

Red carpet launch of her collection on Friday night had the cities’ jewellery enthusiasts thronging to the outlet located opposite Hill View Hotel in Sector F-7. Renowned morning show host Shaista Wahidi was invited to inaugurate the exhibition.

Featuring a wide range of ornaments such as anklets, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and even complete bridal sets, Naeem’s modernistic designs depict a generous use of precious and semi-precious stones which add glamour to the fine creations.

While most of the jewellers fail to pay attention to detail, Naeem’s designs hit the nail on head. This sentiment was echoed by the visitors who were witnessed taking keen interest in her designs depicting delicate craftsmanship.

“I love the very edgy designs. Many designers play safe and craft ethnic, traditional stuff these days but these are just remarkable,” said Saba, one of the guests at the launch.

Apart from silver, gold plated and gold dipped jewellery sets were also put on display.

The price range was kept nominal, starting from Rs250 per piece and going up to Rs25,000.
