Collective fight against drugs urged

Experts emphasised that the eradication of drug addiction is essential for building a safe and sustainable society through collective efforts.
They were speaking at a seminar on a Drug-Free Pakistan, organised by the Department of Rural Sociology, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), in collaboration with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).
Prominent psychiatrist Dr Imtiaz Dogar stressed that the menace of narcotics must be eliminated through joint efforts, noting that drug abuse not only destroys an individual's life but also damages their reputation and family honour.
UAF Sociology Department Chairperson Dr Sadaf Mehmood highlighted the importance of providing proper treatment and rehabilitation facilities for drug addicts so they can overcome addiction and become responsible members of society. ANF Assistant Director Muhammad Nawaz.stated that the department is taking all possible measures to eliminate drugs from society.
Dr Muhammad Atif said it is a collective social responsibility to motivate and support drug victims in overcoming addiction and leading normal lives.
