KARACHI: One person was killed and three were injured when assailants opened fire on a hotel situated in the N block of North Nazimabad on Wednesday.

At least eight people were killed and dozens sustained injuries in different firing incidents late Tuesday late.

Two bodies were found with their hands tied near Taimuria Dental College in North Nazimabad. Police said that the deceased were abducted and were killed after they were tortured.

Robbers in the Site area killed a private company’s guard after assaulting him with sticks.

A body was retrieved from the Sher Shah area, while two people were gunned down near Asghar Shah Stadium in North Nazimabad.

Protestors took to the streets in the Pahar Ganj area of Karachi on Wednesday, protesting against the Tuesday firing incident which killed two men and a minor.

Unidentified assailants had opened fire at people sitting at a tea shop in the Pahar Ganj area of North Nazimabad leaving five people critically injured. The injured had been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where three of them, including Saleh Dost, his son Matiullah and another man Abbas succumbed to their injuries.

Protestors pelted stones on the cars and did not let any car move further in the area. The protestors burnt tyres and blocked the road for traffic.

While police and Rangers were present on the site, no action took place.

Businesses in the vicinity remained closed, while police and Rangers diverted traffic, preventing them from entering the area.

The protestors complained that killings were happening every other day while the law enforcement agencies remained mum.

The Awami National Party (ANP) had claimed that the deceased were party supporters.

Taking a note of the incidents, Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wasan ordered DIG West to present a report of the incident and to arrest those behind the attack.
